Tubes....again

I got Grant's surgery scheduled for his tubes. It is August 25th. I am not too happy with having to wait a whole month but at least we are on the right path.

Ryder

My sister had her baby yesterday! Congrats Hilary and Chris....we are so happy for you!

A perfect babysitter in the making

The last few days have been really hard. Matt has been working really late every night and Grant has been so sick. He has cried for about 3 days straight now.
Anyways.....Paige has been such a little helper to me. She has taken Grant on about 10 walks around our court. For some reason this calms him down. So anytime I need to make a phone call or cook something for the other kids she takes him on walk. She is so cute 'cause she sings to him and she walks him around.
She is obsessed with The BabySitter's Club books right now and talks all the time about how she can't wait to turn 12 and start babysitting. She is going to be a great babysitter and has been a huge life saver to me.

Fun Quiz

Test how smart you are with what is going on in the news. I got 10 out of 12 right.

Do you remember when....

Do You Remember When. . .
Here is a fun little game I saw on a friends blog. Here are the directions:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Ears

After not being able to take Grant crying anymore I took him to the doctor today. He wasn't running a fever or pulling on his ears but I knew that since he had a cold and was SO crabby that it probably meant ear infection time.
Sure enough I was right. I also finally got the doctor to give us a referral to the ENT doctor. So hopefully we will be able to get the tubes put in and Grant can go back to being his happy self.

He weight 25 pounds even today.

Funny Time

Like all three year olds Harry has been cracking us up with the funny stuff he says lately.

When I was trying to get ready for the camping trip I pulled out some of the small suitcases and asked him which one he wanted me to pack him in. He got a very concerned look on his face and said the red one but he didn't think he could fit into it. He started laughing when I told him I wasn't going to pack HIM into the suitcase but that I was going to put his clothes in it.

The other day I needed him to move over so I told him to move his bum bum. He looked at me like I was dumb and said, "Mom, I only have one bum!"

When we were sitting around the camp fire we were all talking and telling stories like we always do. I asked all the kids what their favorite scripture story was. Paige said "Nephi and the plates." Then I asked Harrison and he said, "Nephi and the forks!" We all got a kick out of that one.

Last week I was sitting outside playing with Harry and asking him a bunch of questions. It's fun to try and talk to him about random stuff just to see what comes out of his mouth. So I was asking him what he wanted to be when he grew up and where he was going to live and how many kids he was going to have. So then I asked him who he was going to marry. He was quiet for a long time and started tapping his pointer finger on his lips like he always does when he is thinking. Then his eyes lit up and he said very proudly Jesus!

Camping

Well we went to Pinecrest this weekend. I normally love to go camping and it is one of my favorite things to do. But Grant put that to the test this time. He wasn't feeling well and wanted to be held all the time. Put that together with his age where he wanted to jump into the fire pit and run out into the street the whole time made this past camping trip a challenge. But we still had a good time and the weather was perfect.
Papa worked so hard to help Paige catch a fish. Mitchell caught one the first time we went out on the boat and Paige tried for the next 3 days to get one too. Poor thing never got one. I think we are done camping for the year. We hope next year Grant will be a little older to be able to handle a trip like that better.

Children's Museum

Last Wednesday I took the kids to the children's Museum up in Stockton (thanks to Suzanne for the suggestion in her blog). The kids had a blast we we will definitely do it again sometime. Here are some fun photos from the morning.

Beach Time

We went to the beach on Saturday and had a blast. All the kids loved it.

Harry spent hours chasing the waves back and forth. He laughed the whole time. He was a such a joy to watch. He is getting old enough to just play and half fun and be independent.
Mitchell spent most of the time playing with the boogie board and trying to figure it out. He loved the waves.

Paige spent a lot of her time trying to find shells. She found some pretty ones that I am sure she will save forever!

Poor Grant had a hard time with the sand. We just couldn't keep it out of his eyes, mouth, nose, ears....pretty much everywhere. He still had fun though. It was a great day!

Papa's Birthday

We had fun tonight hanging out with Mimi and Papa for his birthday. I sewed dad an apron for him to BBQ in.

The kids had fun swimming and eating cake. You have to ask Mimi about her heroic efforts tonight in diving in the pool.

Happy Birthday Papa. We love you!

Yay or Nay

I have been debating a lot lately if I should be including posts here about the things my kids do that are wrong or that they got in trouble for. On one hand it is part of life and part of our family. Life isn't always rosy and perfect. Yet, on the other hand I would have been mortified if my mother put my mistakes on the Internet for all the world to see.
But I copy everything I write in this blog and print it off for our family journal and so I want it to include everything about our life. And to be honest some of the stories are quiet entertaining and funny. So what do you think? Should I spill all the beans or are something things better left alone?

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Carter!!!! Hope you have a great 3rd Birthday.

4th of July

We had a great...and very busy 4th of July this year.

We went out the the Bjarnason's for breakfast. The kids love it out 'cause they can see the cows and chickens and run around with all the other kids. And it was fun to see old friends.

Then we went to our Ward's Party. It was a lunch outside behind the church. We had a great turn out and a lot of fun. Paige played kickball, Mitchell and Harry did the slip N slide, Matt played touch football and Grant ate a bunch of watermelon. We had a lot of fun with all of our ward friends.

Then we went to Papa and Mimi's to swim and have dinner. The kids can't seem to get enough swimming so that is always fun.

Then we headed back to our house to do the fireworks. We had some friends from our ward come join us along with Mimi and Papa.

We had a great 4th and hope you did too!

It's the simple things in life

Today has been a good day!

I took Harry to the dentist and they said everything looks great with no cavities. That is always good news!

Then we stopped off to buy fireworks which the kids are very excited for. The place we went to had a free bounce house and snow cones so it was a huge score for the kids.

The smoke here is CA is a little better and it's not too hot here!

And the best part? WIPEOUT is on tonight. My kids are so excited. They love this TV show and can't wait for it to start.

All in all I think today is a great summer day!
