We found out tonight at Open House that Mitchell won FIRST PLACE at his school for the science fair (for his whole grade)! I am so proud of him! He worked so hard on it.
For the past few months Paige has been in a play production of Aladdin. She has had so much fun and really enjoys these plays. She played the part of a Soldier and a city person. She did a great job!
On Friday Matt and I got to take Paige to the temple for the first time. What a sweet day that was for us. My parents came and Matt's mom came with us too. The 6 of us had a wonderful experience together as we were able to watch Paige have her first experience in the temple. Matt baptized both Paige and I and then Matt and my dad took turns confirming us. Pat and Mimi where there to attend us and give us out towels. Paige was so excited to go and had been looking forward to it for a long time. Everyone in the temple was so sweet and helpful to us.

We had our typical family party. We had a very sweet moment when Nana (Pat) gave Paige her old YW in Recognition necklace. She told her she could wear it until she had earned her own and wrote her a very sweet and sentimental card. 
My sweet Grandma Liston Died. I had the chance to fly to Utah to attend the funeral. The whole weekend was very nice and I am so glad I had the chance to be with my family and see everyone and say goodbye to my Grandma. 
The family later moved to Fayette, Utah, where she worked on their farm doing everything from tromping hay and riding the derrick horse to herding cows and turkeys. After graduating from Gunnison High School, she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she worked as a nanny and housekeeper. She later moved back to Gunnison, Utah where she worked at the Gunnison Hotel. While attending a dance in Gunnison, she met and later married her lifetime sweetheart Bud Howard Liston in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 16, 1942, while he was home on leave from the Navy. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1950. Her husband of 58 years preceded her in death in November of 2000. She is the mother of five children, Garry Howard Liston (Melanie Thacker), Ethel Ruth (Liston) Pyle (Jeff Pyle), Judy Kay (Liston) Reynolds (Paul Reynolds), Roger Lee Liston (Kristie Rudd), and Bryan Ross Liston (Rachel Sorensen). She is survived by 27 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Toward the end of World War II she joined her husband in New London, Connecticut where he was stationed until the end of the war. After the war they returned to Salt Lake City where they resided until 1954. She and her husband moved to Kearns, Utah in 1954, where they raised their family. After her family was raised, she worked for six years serving the Lord in the Jordan River Temple. Following her husband's death she 
moved to Payson, Utah to live with her daughter, Judy and son-in-law Paul Reynolds. Helen spent many wonderful days at the Payson Senior Center visiting with friends, painting, working with ceramics, attending dances, playing cards, playing in the band and taking trips with friends. She was very musically inclined and loved to play her organ. While attending a senior citizens' social, Helen met Max Loveless Searle. It was love at first sight, and after a short courtship they were married in July 2006. They spent four wonderful years together sharing their love and happiness. Max preceded her in death in September, 2010. Helen lived a wonderful life and was deeply loved by her family and friends. She was a very loving, caring, and kind mother and grandmother who was always concerned about her family's wellbeing. Her loving demeanor will be greatly missed. Our family extends our deepest love and respect to you mother, and we thank you for the life you gave us. 
He is so kind and sweet and thoughtful and I don't acknowledge it enough.
